“Think to yourself, I'm just here to create.

We are dealing in a magic realm. No body knows why or how it works.”

Rick Rubin

When art begins to reflect life one has to wonder, with gratitude, awe and delight.

Oh! This is where I live!

Oh! This is what I love!

Oh! This is where my imagination leads me in play.

For Barbara Heile, the intuitive process of painting has taken the lead. She finds her way as she goes.

She's smitten, as any long time painter would be.

She's challenged.

And she keeps learning.

Value, Design, Color, Texture and Soul are principles that keep her eyes on the road. As she opens more and more to play - as she listens to the call and her response, these principles are like Sherpa guides supporting her desire to enter ever more directly in connection to the creative process.

Painting with acrylic, mixed media, oil and cold wax, she uses tools of any kind to make a mark, to lay a color, to create a texture. This group of paintings fell into a series that reflects the beauty of the county of Rappahannock, the heart of her country kitchen and the wonder of abstraction, the underpinning of each painting and sometimes its full voice.

Expressive contemplation names what has happened in her studio in the past year.

There is joy here to be shared.
